Dull and murky in Christmas Common

Bourne End sandwiches

Contrary to yesterday, the day dawned dull and damp. I started my deliberate
plan to take a photograph from my room every morning. To be precise, in
order to obtain the best views, I took the Christmas Common photos from
the bathroom window.
Jerry drove me to the rental car office, where I was given a brand new
car to play with. I drove to Bourne End, manoeuvred my way through the
road works which completely blocked the village centre, bought a roll and
a coffee from my favourite sandwich shop, and drove down to the river to
eat & drink them.

Daffodils

It was still dull and gloomy but there were some daffodils to brighten
things up and horses to provide some entertainment.
I took a few photos and wandered back to the car, chatting to an elderly
man with a collie. It had been a neglected rescue dog but, after 8 years
with a new master, it looked a picture of health. For some unknown reason,
I never thought to take a photo of them. While we were chatting, I heard
a loud squeak and saw a pussy running across the road and then back again,
with a large rabbit clasped in its mouth.

My journey took me to Marlow, to visit the computer shop for a chat, and
then to Gerrards Cross to the house agents on a similar mission.
This gave me the opportunity to take my annual photograph off the railway
bridge of the site of Tesco's fiasco. This year the old (three year old)
superstructure had been demolished and the ground was being re-stabilized.
The surrounding streets were covered in mud and the natives were revolting.

Pearl, who I was meant to be meeting, was out of the office on a house
visit, so I had the
time to wander around the village green. This is surrounded by some of
the most expensive housing in the UK and is a delightful place.

I also took the opportunity to have a healthy roll in an upmarket coffee
shop, before returning to meet Pearl and have a chat about my property.

High Wycombe Cornmarket

The rest of the afternoon was spent in High Wycombe, buying wine, meeting
my personal banker and shopping in the new mall. Various missions having
been accomplished, I returned to Jerry & Kathryn's and did a couple of
hour's work before they returned home from work.
