The Porirua Wine Society was established in 1980 to bring together all those who have a love of wine and who wish to understand more and meet others with the same interest. It aims to promote a wider knowledge of the wines of the world and a more discerning appreciation of their individual merits through tastings and visits to vineyards and wineries. We pay particular attention to the continuing development of the New Zealand Wine Industry.

We meet on the second Tuesday of the month at the Gear Homestead in Porirua for the presentation and tasting of wine from wineries and wine agents. There are also social events such as dinners and an annual BBQ.

There is an annual membership fee of $25 and a $15 charge for each meeting. The Society has a medium sized cellar to broaden the range of wines available for tasting.

We welcome visitors.
