Christchurch

A quiet Saturday. There was some drizzle overnight and it was cloudy when we all got up. My sleep was interrupted by a throbbing big toe. More pills are called for. We spent some of the morning watching Thomas play in a junior cricket match in the local park. The standard was pretty good and the game ended in a tie. Gripping stuff!

After lunch, we went to a house warming party held by a couple of friends who are moving to something larger as there is a baby on the way. I chatted to a number of people and had to go to considerable lengths to avoid a slobbery kiss from their Airedale, Wolfie. He is a bit too big for such games and has alarming teeth.

After this, I drove to a village about 25k out of town where two other friends were getting married in the garden of their house. I popped in to give them my best wishes, stayed for a couple of drinks and more entertaining conversation in lovely weather and beautiful surroundings, and then drove home for a quiet evening and an early night.
