Paraparaumu

Quite a reasonable night's sleep but I'm still tired. We had a leisurely breakfast and I then reorganised my bags so that I could leave a reasonable amount of stuff behind when I flew to the South Island.

In mid morning, we drove a couple of miles down the road to the Arts Club, to look at the latest exhibition. As usual, there were some very good pictures on display, including a couple of Valerie's. Photography, of course, was prohibited so you'll have to take my word for it.

We returned home, visiting Nick's new house en route. This backs on to an amazing lily pond, which adjoins several houses. If it were a swimming pool it would have to be fenced. As it's natural, anyone could fall in and drown.

A pond par excellence

We returned home for a light lunch and a snooze. I was also able to contact lots of people to organise a meeting later in my stay.

A good bbq

The bbq in the allotments was good fun. The weather was OK and about 25 of us sat around eating and drinking. All very friendly and a good way to while away the afternoon and evening.
