A very cold start. The car windscreen was frozen solid when I first looked out of the door. Steve's car, parked next to it was similarly afflicted. Even when we left the house at 11.30, there were still signs of ice about.

Good progress with the meal

De Hems - always difficult to photograph

We caught a tube into the centre and arrived at De Hems to find it closed until 12.30.

Most unusual. After a short wait, we were allowed in and the party gradually assembled. Once a couple of rounds of drinks had been consumed we walked round the corner to the usual restaurant, now operating under a new name. Nothing else seemed to have changed, however, and we were presented with a large quantity of good food at a very reasonable price.

The dinner completed, the party broke up and Valerie and I walked around Piccadilly for a while, investigating Burlington Arcade and other well known shopping landmarks. On Albemarle Street I spotted a charging point for electric vehicles. One of the two stands was occupied by a large motorbike. Didn't know they did electric versions of them.

We returned home, re-united with Steve, Sara & the cat and spent the evening relaxing and watching TV.
