Streatley to Chalfont St Peter

A quiet morning, again, after which I drove for about an hour to Tylers Green. Once there, I met Miles and we walked through Penn village, past the pond which was still partially frozen, and past lots of very posh houses and an excellent 2nd hand bookshop.

Penn Pond - with ducks and with ice

At the extreme far end of the village, 30 minutes walk from where we started, is an old car dealers, the church and The Crown. This has recently been done up and is a bit open plan and minimalist for my tastes.

It was very busy but the staff were nice and the food was good. I would certainly eat and drink there again.

Sunday lunch

Found some snow on the way home

We retraced our steps through the village, found some snow still hiding behind a wall and decided that the temperature was falling again.

Back at Miles’ house, we had coffee and watched cricket on the TV before I set off again the short distance to Simon & Thelma’s. There I had a light dinner and lots of conversation.
